The Showcase Series is a Mike Curb College of Entertainment and Music Business driven and funded initiative designed to showcase Curb College student talent in a full-scale concert production environment and encourage/build a sense of community between Belmont University and the Nashville music industry. Students work with professional entertainment industry businesses such as Bandit Lites, Inc. and Clair Brothers Audio Systems to create a complete production from top to bottom.
FACTS:
· All six showcases take place in Belmont University’s Curb Event Center
· Approximately 2,000 student and community members attend each live show
· Over 30 Curb College students hold advanced leadership positions in the areas of production, lighting design, and audio engineering
· Approximately 75 students are involved in the production and implementation of each show
The Showcase Series also includes the ASCAP Writers’ Night Series in the Curb Café. Each semester, eight of Belmont’s best student songwriters are chosen to perform alongside professional songwriters. Previous guest writers include, Kelley Lovelace, Stephen Curtis Chapman, Gordon Kennedy, Rivers Rutherford, and many more! All events in the Showcase Series are judged by industry professionals.
