Music Business

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

The Music Business (MBU) major develops knowledge and skills in a variety of areas such as record company operations, music publishing, artist management, marketing, public relations, merchandising, and music production.

  • Choose the business emphasis and prepare for a broad range of managerial and marketing careers in the entertainment and music industries.
  • Choose the production emphasis and master the skills necessary for a career in the development of music for the entertainment and music industries.

Masters in Business Administration (MBA)

Belmont University offers an elective track specialization in Entertainment and Music Business, in the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree. Students in this elective track specialization option within the M.B.A. degree program should refer to the Graduate Studies in Business bulletin pages for requirements and policies.

Entertainment Industry Studies

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) 

The Entertainment Industry Studies (EIS) major teaches students to respond to dynamic shifts in the operational and commercial demands of the entertainment industry.  Courses in artistry, written and performance creativity, dramatic arts and technology create a truly unique academic niche focused on meeting the needs of students seeking creative and entrepreneurial careers. 

Songwriting

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA)

The Songwriting (SNG) major helps students develop their artistic crafts while gaining a practical understanding of the business aspects of a songwriting career.  Students in the Songwriting program take courses in songwriting, music theory  and ear training, music publishing, and studio production and complete required mentorships  with professional songwriters.

Audio Engineering Technology

Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA)  

The Audio Engineering Technology (AET) major is professionally oriented and designed for students seeking careers in the application, installation, manufacturing, operation, and maintenance of analog and digital audio and music recording, reproduction, processing, and reinforcement systems.
