David Maddox is a Nashville entertainment attorney who has been practicing law in the entertainment industry since the early 1980’s. In 2009 he became a full-time assistant professor at Belmont University where he had served as an adjunct for several years. He teaches or has taught Music Publishing, Survey of the Music Business, Entertainment Career Development and Copyright law. In addition to his teaching duties, he is a faculty advisor to the entrepreneurial Bruin Publishing Company created by Belmont students and he is a mentor/instructor of a group of Belmont interns.
A native of Atlanta, David is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University where he received a BA degree in Political Science, Cum Laude, and he received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Georgia. He is admitted to practice in two states, Georgia and Tennessee. He has been married for 27 years to Janey Maddox and they have two adult sons, Woody, 31 and Devin, 25.
