Kristél Pfeil Kemmerer, Ed.D.
I am originally from northern New Jersey - one hour west of NYC and 2 hours north of Philadelphia – I did my undergraduate and Masters studies in upstate New York. I started teaching and performing in New Jersey and then moved to Pennsylvania to live and work after I got married. For many years while my kids were little, I taught part time, performed locally, managed some local performing groups, and taught at odd hours so I could be a stay-at-home mom.
As a full-time student of the music industry, I am very active in the music business and education scenes. I am a board member of Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association and hold membership in Audio Engineering Society and several other academic organizations. I have also published articles and have lectured and consulted on music industry curriculum and assessment; have been a reviewer for McGraw-Hill, ACPA, MEIEA, and Houghton-Mifflin; and have presented at numerous conferences.
I especially enjoy spending time with my family and friends, and – believe it or not – doing yard work. I also love to read, travel, am an excellent cook, a certified pilot, and a lousy golfer (but I plan to work on that).
