Kelly Ford, MFA
Kelly Ford is a musician, songwriter, engineer, music producer, videographer,and photographer. Kelly was born in New Jersey; he has traveled extensively and now calls Nashville his home. He is passionate about education, both as a learner and as an educator. Kelly’s educational pursuits are eclectic and far
ranging, they include: Defense Language Institute, Monterey, CA: Basic Russian
Language. Rutgers School of Engineering: BS, Computer and Electrical Engineering. Mason Gross School of Arts: voice, piano, and music theory. Kelly was a tenor in Rutgers, University Choir. He earned his MFA in Recording Arts and Technology at MTSU.
Kelly’s professional career is an convergence of all his interests. He served in The United States Army and New Jersey National Guard as a Russian linguist and Electronic Warfare Specialist. Kelly worked as a Reliability and Hardware Test Engineer for semiconductor devices. He was employed at Sony Computer Entertainment America in California. Kelly pursued his passion for music as a Recording and Mix Engineer/Producer, in Toms River, NJ. As a graduate student at MTSU he worked as a Video Journalist in the News and Media Relations department. Most recently he worked as an Instructor at SAE Nashville. Kelly has found a calling as a professor at Belmont, he can finally combine his love of music, education, and technology in a rewarding career.
