About

The primary goal of the MSAE program is to enhance our students’ theoretical and practical skills and knowledge. The curriculum allows the student have either a practitioner or academic focus depending on whether he/she seeks to go into commercial or industrial research and design (R&D), pursue a Ph.D., or work in the professional sectors. Graduates of the program will have the skills and knowledge to continue their professional and creative careers; enter the professional industrial, governmental, or education workforce; or continue their studies in an appropriate doctoral program.

The M.S. with a major in Audio Engineering requires thirty-four (34) credit hours of study and is designed for completion in as few as five (5) consecutive semesters (summer inclusive). Nine (9) credit hours of study allow the student to focus a career specialty in either practitioner application proficiencies in the applied track or academic research proficiencies in the scholarship track. Both tracks require a culminating thesis and oral examination.
