Relationships with Other Schools and Agencies
Dual Degree Programs
Belmont University has contracts with Auburn University and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville for Dual Degree Programs. These programs require three years of study at Belmont University followed by approximately two years of study at one of the above institutions. The course of study at Belmont must be either mathematics, physics or chemistry. Following completion of the academic requirements at both institutions, a student shall be awarded the B.S. degree from Belmont University and the appropriate degree from the second institution, depending on the course of study chosen.
A dual degree student will be eligible for most of the engineering programs at Auburn University and the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Contact the Dual Degree Coordinator, Department of Chemistry and Physics, for further details of these programs.
O’More College of Design
Belmont University students may earn a minor in Interior Design or
Fashion Design by following a specified course of studies through a
transfer agreement with O’More College of Design in
Franklin, Tennessee. The minor is a combination of courses at both
Belmont University and O’More College. The specified
course of study may be obtained through the Art Department or the
Registrar’s office. Only those courses specified on the
course of study and completed with a grade of
‘C’ or higher will transfer from
O’More as credit toward a Belmont degree. Students who
wish to pursue the minor should contact the Registrar’s
Office to obtain the appropriate paperwork.
Belmont Continuing Studies
Through Belmont Continuing Studies programs, the university seeks to meet the needs of the broader community by offering courses on topics of current interest. Many of the courses are planned for the business segment, dealing with management issues of the time.
Belmont grants Continuing Education Units (CEUs) to individuals participating in continuing education programs who make application for such credit prior to enrolling in the course. One CEU may be awarded for each 10 hours of participation.
University credit may be received by registering for a Special Studies course in the academic discipline. The approval of the dean of their major area and the dean of the school offering the course is required.
