Resume Reviews: How do they work?

We aim to review submitted resume and cover letters within five business days to ensure that your document is ready for employers. This personalized review process is rare among universities, but we do so as a service to Belmont students and graduates. The resume review will provide you with feedback based on standard resume and cover letter practices as well as industry-specific feedback from employers.

Applying for a job that closes soon? Email your specialized career coach directly so that they are aware of the situation. We will do our best to approve documents quickly in these instances, even if we are unable to provide thorough feedback.

  5. Attend a career fair to learn about job and internship opportunities.
  6. Utilize InterviewStream or schedule a practice interview with your specialized career coach to prepare for upcoming interviews.

Career Coaching Appointment Cancellation/No Show Policy

We understand unexpected commitments and illnesses can affect your schedule. However, please notify Career Development if you are unable to make your appointment, as there is a high demand for coaching appointments. Your cancellation will allow us to offer your appointment time to another student or graduate. Be sure to check your schedule carefully to avoid appointment cancellations. If you need to cancel a scheduled appointment, please do so in Handshake least 24 hours prior to your appointment time, or as soon as possible in the event of an illness or emergency. When you miss an appointment without contacting the office or do not provide 24 hours' notice, a notation is made in your record and repeated "no shows" will be reviewed prior to scheduling future appointments.
