Why did you decide to study business?

I enjoy the thrill of being a part of and leading organizations, and I felt like business was the best way to realize this passion.  Along the way, I have decided to focus on Finance and Accounting and have really loved what I've studied.  Numbers drive some people crazy, but I have learned that sometimes numbers can tell the story of what is really happening within a business.  Belmont has fostered my analytical eye and has helped me see how useful this can be in life.

Why did you decide to study business at Belmont?

Belmont's business school is clearly a program committed to growth and excellence while maintaining a personal touch.  It boasts of high rankings and accolades, but the faculty and staff are still very accessible and make a point of reaching out to their students.  I could sense this was an inviting, exciting culture.

Has it been what you expected?

Belmont's business program has truly exceeded my expectations.  Not only do I feel like I am receiving a quality education, I also know my professors actually care about my personal and professional growth.  They have gone out of their way to help me beyond the classroom and have proven that they have a genuine passion for what they do.

What have been some of your best Belmont College of Business experiences?

The opportunity to be involved in programs like SIFE has been amazing.  I get to engage in real-life projects and solve real problems in the community, taking the knowledge I've gained in the classroom and using it to impact lives.  Additionally, I have loved having the opportunity to study abroad in Hong Kong and Eastern Europe.  Never before had I imagined I would want to do business in Asia, but now I know just what an exciting place it is.

What do you want to do with your degree?

I am planning to pursue a career in finance, particularly in private equity or institutional investments.  One day, I would love to run the financial side of a non-profit, helping dreamers achieve their goals by handling the business side of the organization.

Why would you recommend the program to others considering Belmont?

I would have no hesitations in recommending Belmont and its business programs to others!  Belmont is a growing and dynamic place, and the opportunities it provides are incredible.  Studying business at Belmont has taken me to five foreign countries through its study abroad program, has allowed me to connect with my professors on a personal level, and has taught me that I can be instrumental in solving real problems in the community.  Belmont is quite a special place.
