Miller Analogies Test (MAT) Strategies Course

The Massey School MAT (Miller Analogies Test) Strategies Course supplements a comprehensive overview of the format of the MAT, the construction and types of analogies tested on the MAT, and the areas of general knowledge that MAT analogies address with an extensive review of vocabulary, including selected Latin and Greek roots and affixes.   Course lectures, technique demonstration/ modeling, and in-class drill will focus specifically on structural analysis of the types of analogies presented in the MAT,  the categories of relationships these analogies encompass, order of correspondence in analogy structures, and execution strategies, including efficient time management, for maximizing performance on the multiple types of analogies presented in the MAT.  Vocabulary development and strengthening will occur through outside-class study and in-class drill, including, for those who complete registration and acquire the text by mid-October, vocabulary quizzes (and answer keys) e-mailed to registrants each of the four weeks prior to the first class meeting.
