AACSB International Accreditation
Belmont University is the only private university in Tennessee offering both undergraduate and graduate business and accounting programs that are accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), the most prestigious business school accrediting organization.
Belmont's accounting program is also the smallest in the world ever to have achieved specialized accounting accreditation by AACSB International.
Organized in 1916, AACSB International is the premier accrediting agency for bachelors, masters and doctoral degree programs in business administration and accounting. Of the more than 15,000 graduate business programs in the world, only 854 are members of AACSB International (658 in the US). Around the world, 424 are accredited in business and 160 in accounting. Only 116 of the accredited schools in the U.S. are private institutions.
To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to curriculum, faculty resources, admissions, degree requirements, library and computer facilities, financial resources, and intellectual climate that are all mission-linked.
AACSB International accreditation includes the Undergraduate School of Business Administration, The Mike Curb School of Music Business, and The Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business Administration. Belmont University has the only AACSB International accredited Music Business program in the world.
Belmont University is also accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) since 1959.
