A: You may print out the application on this website, complete it and mail to the address listed on the back of the form. Or, you may request and complete an admissions packet from the Massey Admissions Office. Along with your application form, enclose the non-refundable application fee of $50. If you are an international applicant, you must submit an official copy of your TOEFL scores and a Declaration and Certification of Finance Form.  The Certification of Finance Form can be obtained from the International Education Office.  Contact 615-460-5500 or email internationaled@mail.belmont.edu

Q: What are the admission requirements?
A: To be considered for admission to the MBA / MACC program, you must have a bachelor's degree with acceptable grade point average (international students must have the equivalent of a bachelor's degree from a U.S. school), an acceptable GMAT score, and a minimum of two years' work experience beyond your baccalaureate degree. The work experience requirement is waived for students applying for admission to the MACC program.

Q: What are the minimum requirements for GMAT and GPA?
A: We consider each candidate's individual merits, along with their GPA and GMAT score. The average GMAT score for entering students is approximately 530, and the average GPA is about 3.0.

Q: Can I attend the MBA / MACC program as a full-time student?
A: Yes. While there is no separate full-time program, students who want to accelerate their program can do so by taking three or more evening classes per semester. A limited number of graduate assistantships are available for full-time students.

Q: Can I apply immediately after completing my undergraduate degree?
A: All MBA applicants must have a minimum of two years of work experience. The average length of work experience for students in the program is five years. The work experience requirement is waived for students applying for admission to the MACC program.

Q: When can I begin my classes?
A: Students may begin their coursework at three times during  the academic year: January (Spring Semester), June (Summer Semester) and August (Fall Semester).

Q: May I just take a class or two without being admitted to the program?
A: No. Only students admitted to the program are allowed to enroll in MBA / MACC classes. One important aspect of our program is the small class size, which provides for rich interaction between students and faculty. Accordingly, class size is limited and only students accepted into the program are allowed to enroll.

Q: My undergraduate major was not in business. Can I still apply to Massey?
A: Yes. You don't need an undergraduate business degree to complete a Belmont MBA.  However, there are prerequisite requirements that must be completed prior to enrolling in graduate level courses.  These prerequisite requirements can be completed in Belmont's Undergradute School of Business or at any other accredited undergraduate college or university.  All prerequisites must be completed with a grade of "C" or better.  Official transcripts are required as proof of successful completion. A review of a student's undergraduate transcript will be necessary to determine which prerequisites are required.

Q: My undergraduate degree is in business. Am I exempted from some MBA classes?
A: No, but you may be exempted from prerequisite coursework. Each candidate's transcript is evaluated by the Associate Dean to determine the number of prerequisite classes, if any, needed prior to enrolling in graduate level courses.

Q: My undergraduate degree is not from an accredited American college or university. Can I still apply to Massey?
A: No, applicants must: have a bachelor's degree from an accredited American college or university and meet certain academic requirements as specified by the AACSB International standards.

Q: Will my work experience exempt me from some MBA / MACC classes?
A: No. We value our students' work experience because it helps better relate to the information they learn in our classrooms; however, accredited graduate programs require students to complete actual coursework in all prerequisite, core and elective areas.  Thus, a waiver of classes on the basis of experience violates the rules of our AACSB accreditation.

Q: Does the Massey MBA program offer any tracks in a specific area?
A: Yes. We offer seven specific elective tracks: accounting, entrepreneurship, finance, general business, healthcare, marketing, and music business; however, an elective track is not required.  Students may take any five courses that best suit their needs.

Q: What courses should I take first?
A: There is no required sequence of courses. However, students are not allowed to enroll in graduate level courses prior to completing prerequisite requirements.

Q: I have completed some classes in another MBA / MACC program. Can these credits apply to requirements to my graduate degree requirements at Belmont University?
A: The normal expectation is that all work for the MBA degree will be completed at Belmont University. However, in certain cases, up to five hours of transfer credit may be granted for graduate-level courses completed at another AACSB-accredited institution.
