Dr. Karen Wieckert
Assistant Professor of Information Systems Management
Dr. Karen Wieckert is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems Management in the College of Business Administration. Prior to coming to Belmont University, she conducted research, consulted, taught and worked in the information systems (IS) industry in California. Notably, she designed the user interaction for websites and intranets for such companies as Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, Charles Schwab, and PGE Corporation.
Dr. Wieckert taught Human Computer Interaction at Stanford University before coming to Belmont and has conducted research into the economics of standardization in electronic data interchange and worked in medical informatics on clinical decision support systems and electronic patient records. She says her most memorable consulting position was working for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan where she designed a system for cross departmental industrial planning.
