Mary Thompson

Ms.Mary Thompson earned her B.A. in Economics from Oglethorpe University and M.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame. After working in the banking industry, she taught as an adjunct instructor at DeKalb College and instructor at Kennesaw University before joining the faculty in Belmont’s College of Business Administration.

In addition to macroeconomics and microeconomics, she has taught comparative economic systems, money and banking, and economics inquiry. Her service to economics education has included reviewing the immigration chapter to be included in an upcoming edition of a McGraw-Hill/Irwin Publishers textbook.

She has served Belmont University as a member of the College of Business Administration Assurance of Learning and Assessment committees and Belmont University’s Religion, Ethics, and Culture Committee. She also serves as a faculty advisor to a conservative student publication.

Ms. Thompson received awards from Gamma Beta Phi National Honor Society and the College of Business Administration Student Advisory Board for her service to their organizations.
