Dr. Dillard-Eggers

Dr. Jane Dillard-Eggers has taught at Belmont since 1998.  She has a B. S. in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Austin Peay State University, and a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Alabama.

Dr. Dillard-Eggers has been a licensed CPA since 1981.  Prior to entering the education field, Dr. Dillard-Eggers worked for the Nashville office of Deloitte & Touche for 12 years and attained the rank of Senior Manager.  While in public accounting, she specialized in working with closely held businesses and in the litigation support area.

She currently teaches Cost Accounting and Intermediate Accounting in Belmont's undergraduate program and Fundamentals of Managerial/Cost Accounting and Advanced Accounting in the Jack C. Massey Graduate School of Business at Belmont.

Her research interests include teaching and pedagogical research and knowledge acquisition and the development of expertise in professional accountants.  She has published in journals such as Advances in Accounting Education, the Journal of Accounting and Finance Research and the Journal of College of Teaching and Learning.  She also actively presents her research findings at national and international conferences.

She holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.  She has served on various committees for the Tennessee Society of CPAs.  In addition, she serves as a Board member for the G. H. Weems Educational Fund and is active in many service ministries for her church.

Dr. Dillard-Eggers is a member of the business honor society, Sigma Beta Delta.  She was nominated for the Nashville Chapter of the Tennessee Society of CPA's Accounting Educator of the Year in 2003 and won the recognition in 2004.
