Alumni Testimonials

The Center

"I could not have asked for a better undergraduate experience than what I received at Belmont University. when I first started I was not really sure what I wanted my major to be. It was after Dr. Cornwall did a presentation on the Entrepreneurship Program that I knew what my calling was. Majoring in Entrepreneurship has been one of the most beneficial decisions I have made so far. Not only did it teach me how to start and run my own business but I received one-on-one advice from one of the best entrepreneurs in the field. I felt that all of the faculty were pushing me to succeed in every aspect of life and this support system was crucial during undergrad. I can proudly say that, since graduation, I have continued to work for myself in real estate, and can now say I am a 'multi-million dollar producer' in only 3 years in the field! I accredit this success to Dr. Cornwall and his staff at Belmont University."

Student-run Businesses

"Being a manager at Feedback Clothing Co., the student-run clothing store, has been an incredible opportunity. When I started working there a year and a half ago, I had no idea how to run a clothing store. But, being in charge of buying, managing, and marketing has taught me so much. I definitely feel better prepared about opening my own clothing store after I graduate. I don't think there's really any better way to learn how to run a business than actually doing it. It's also helped me realize how hard having my own business wil be, but that there is nothing else I would rather do."

Class of 2008, Entrepreneurship Major and Fashion Design Minor

"As a co-manager of one of the Center's six student-run businesses I have had the opportunity to experience hands on what it is like to run a retail establishment. The lessons I have learned are invaluable and I feel better prepared to start my career... Dr. Cornwall gave me a level of responsibility that I would have never gotten at this point in my career; he challenged me and showed me that it okay to make mistakes as long as I learn from them."

Hatcheries

"I utilized the Hatchery in our student life center, I attended roundtable groups, was part of the clubs and went on several different trips to compete and network with other young business professionals. The faculty didn't just tell me what I needed to do, but they showed me how to do it, make it better, and design my business to be ready for future growth. [Since graduation] I have had an explosive growth in clientele, interest from investors, and have had growth in revenue. I know that my education has been the foundation of how I run my company."
