Emily Rotich is a Faculty Fellow, Department of Biology. She received her Ph.D. from Tennessee State University in the area of General Biology. Her research work explores the microbes on and in plants known to have medicinal properties. Her project includes characterizing the endophytic microbes from herbs and other plants with medicinal properties, their metabolites, and interaction with clinical microorganisms. She has taught General Biology and Microbiology lectures and labs. Prior to her current appointment, she worked as an adjunct instructor at Belmont University and South College, Nashville, and as a Clinical Research Coordinator at Meharry Medical College.
