Beaman Center Membership

Persons using the Fitness & Recreation area are required to pay certain fees that are used to support the operations of the facility. Fees for students are included in the student fee payment each semester. Faculty and staff are a part of the benefit package. Spouses, part-time employees, dependents, and alumni may apply for membership and pay the designated fees and obtain the Student Life Center card for entry. Proof of university affiliation will be required at the time of application. The individual holding the required relationship to the university must purchase membership.

Membership renewal:
Renewal notices will be mailed a month prior to the expiration date of the membership. Student Life Center cards will be re-activated after payment of fees and are not refundable or transferable. Your ID card will be confiscated if you allow another person to use it to enter the Student Life Center.

Student membership:
Students who have paid the fees at registration will have access to the Student Life Center by swiping their current validated BU ID card. This is effective only for the semester in which the student is enrolled.

Faculty and staff membership:
Current faculty and staff members have access to the Student Life Center by swiping their current faculty or staff ID card.

Adjunct faculty membership:
Currently employed adjunct faculty members will have a free membership to the Beaman Center during the semester in which they are under contract and teaching.

Alumni membership:
BU alumni may purchase memberships to the Student Life Center by paying the appropriate fees.

Family member membership:
Members may purchase memberships for eligible members of their immediate family and/or dependents. A family is defined as a spouse and any children or dependents living at home between the ages of 16-18.

Belmont Height Baptist Church membership:
Current members of the Belmont Heights Baptist Church may purchase a membership to the Student Life Center by paying the appropriate fees.

Restrictions

1. Youth 16 years of age or over may access the facility without adult supervision.

2. Children 16 years and under are not permitted to use the weight and fitness equipment or cardiovascular equipment at any time.

3. Adult supervision is required on the climbing wall at all times for children ages 16 and under.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

1. Misrepresenting your association with Belmont University to obtain an identification card to the Fitness & Recreation are in the Student Life Center will result in immediate termination without refund.

2. BU employees, and family memberships, are not allowed to continue usage of the Student Life Center upon termination of employment at Belmont University.

3. All enrollment fees are non-refundable.

Guest Policy

A fee of $5 per guest will be assessed. Participants must be age 16 or older. Members are responsible for the conduct and action of their guests. Members and guests must be involved in the same activity. The Student Life Center member must register guests at the Access Control Desk.

1. Intramural and Fitness & Recreation sport spectators will be issued privilege passes according to regulations outlined by the Student Life Center staff. This will not allow the use of any equipment or special areas.

2. Qualified visitors wishing to tour the Student Life Center will be issued a privilege pass by the Student Life Center staff.

3. Alumni, family members and guests may not participate in intramural sport leagues.
