The Beaman Center employees over 40 student workers.  If you are interested in applying for a position at the Beaman Center, please come by and pick up an application at the Access Control Desk and turn it in to Daniel Lawrence.

Customer Service Assistant
The Customer Service Assistant is responsible for the initial contact with patrons upon entering or calling the Beaman Student Life Center.  This includes but is not limited to: customer service skills, answer the phones, check out equipment, and answer any questions that pertain to Belmont’s campus and the Beaman Center.

Fitness Assistant
The Fitness Assistant is responsible for the observation of the weight room while answering any questions about the equipment or exercises to perform for a specific body part.  The assistant will also be responsible for assisting the patrons with weight training either by being a spotter or showing the patrons how to properly perform an exercise.

Climbing Assistant
The Climbing Assistant is responsible for the observation of the rock wall while answering any questions about the equipment or safe climbing techniques.  The assistant will also be responsible for assisting the patrons with becoming belay certified as well as set routes and basic wall maintenance.

Jump Start Trainers
Trainers will assist 'Jump Start' participants during a six week weight management and fitness program designed to help members of the Beaman Center meet their health and fitness goals.  Trainers will educate, motivate, and increase the self-esteem of the participants.

Beaman Center Employees

Group Fitness Instructors
Students lead group exercise classes that are taught to Belmont students, faculty/staff, and alumni. Instructors strive to bring the latest and greatest programs offered in the fitness industry. Proper certifications required for this position.

Intramural Referee/ Official
Intramural referees/ officials serve as a liaison for the intramural department and the participants while enforcing the rules, policies, and procedures for each sport.  Each referee/ official will be taught the rules and mechanics necessary to officiate a variety of intramural events. 

Beaman Trainers
Trainers will instruct participants on proper techniques on a variety of exercises and will be provided the motivation to help participants achieve lifestyle and fitness goals.   Trainers will also provide one-on-one instruction that incorporates goal setting, health education, and workout designs.  Trainers must pass a certification test to qualify for this position.

Student Coordinators
Student Coordinators have the opportunity to work along side a graduate assistant while assisting in the daily operations in the areas of Personal Training, Group Fitness, Intramurals, Outdoor Pursuits, and Clerical Support.  Tasks include but not limited to coordination, promotion, supervision, evaluation, training of the student employees in the area assisting in and other duties as assigned.
