Jennifer Johnson

jcjohnsonpicJC Johnson earned her MFA with a Photography Concentration from Kansas State University in 2010.  A former graduate of Belmont University, she returned to Belmont as a Photography and Studio Art instructor in the Spring of 2011. Currently, JC (often known as Jen) is a working artist and instructor in Nashville, including at Vanderbilt University’s Sarratt Art Studios.  She often photographs internationally and has a passion for travel and study abroad.  In 2012, she lived and worked in London, England as a staff photographer for a non-profit organization working in conjunction with the London 2012 Olympic Games.  Often, her photographic work makes associations to childhood as well as the nostalgic and the whimsical.  Within her photography, she is most attracted to idealistic subjects that illustrate a utopian model existing within popular culture.  Common themes in her photography include, European architecture and history, fashion, travel, toys and miniatures.
