THE APPEAL OF WOOD-TURNING: JOHN JORDAN AND BRENDA STEIN
Contemporary wood art covers a diverse range of wood forms: turned-wood vessels, assembled wood forms, furniture and sculpture. This exhibit features some of the best wood-turners in Tennessee. These two artists represent a variety of techniques of turned wood. Great care is taken to ensure that the grain and the wood itself are aligned to form the individual vessels.

MYTH AND MEANING: RECENT PAINTINGS BY GREG DECKER
Reception: Thursday, October 6, 2005 (4PM to 6PM)
For Greg, myth (public theme) and narrative (private story) and the raw beauty of their realization through paint are inseparable. All forms of representational painting including still life, have a mythic dimension.
Art history is a kaleidoscopic liturgy of inherited meaning. Greg embraces the past as hungrily as the present and the future.
