Alicia's Moment of Truth

Alicia's Moment of Truth

I’ve been a nurse for over 20 years and am a certified operating room nurse. I currently work in Informatics as a Senior Application System Support Specialist for Perioperative Services at a large private hospital. I have an Associate of Science degree in nursing and first worked as an LPN and later became a licensed RN.

However, I always knew that I needed a bachelor’s degree to further my career, so I started researching RN-BSN programs. I saw an email about an informational session at Belmont and decided to find out more. At the meeting, I was so very impressed with the personalized attention from the professors, and I loved how accessible they were.

At Belmont, you can take classes online or on campus, and I need that type of flexibility with my busy work schedule. The professors at Belmont are incredibly dedicated, and they really seem to understand what it’s like to balance work and school.

Another thing that I really like about the program is the fact that I take classes with people from various nursing backgrounds, and I feel like I have made friends for life. I take every opportunity I can to tell other nurses about Belmont and encourage them to go back to school to get their degrees.

I am so happy to be a part of the Belmont community. This is one of the best choices I’ve ever made.
