My name is Ted Gray and I am one of the Assistant Directors of Admissions here at Belmont. This will be my 31st year in college admissions and my 14th at Belmont. I have three daughters: Molly, Anna and Grace. Molly is a Belmont graduate. She is currently working on her PhD in Literature at Ole Miss. My middle daughter Anna is in her freshman year at Belmont and Grace is a Junior in high school. So I have now experienced college admissions from both sides of the fence. Tuition is not an abstract concept in our family. I received a bachelor’s degree many years ago from Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN. My wife Laura earned a PhD in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and she is a faculty member here at Belmont in the Graduate Nursing Program. In fact we were married on Belmont’s campus. The wedding was held outside and it just so happened that the cicadas were hatching at the time-which made for a lively ceremony. My overarching goal has always been to help prospective transfer students determine whether Belmont will be a good fit for them.

As a side note-my Grandmother attended Ward Belmont in 1914 where she met my Great Aunt who then introduced her to my Grandfather. So…my connection to Belmont goes back quite a ways.

Ted works with:

Prospective transfers interested in the College of Sciences and Mathematics, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the College of Theology and Christian Ministry, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Undeclared Majors
