Ward-Belmont College

In 1913, Belmont College for Young Women merged with Ward Seminary for Young Ladies, forming Ward-Belmont College. This prestigious Nashville institution continued to provide higher education to young women from all over the country until 1951, when it became the four-year, co-educational Belmont College.

The Ward-Belmont era, and our invaluable Ward-Belmont Alumnae, are an important part of the Belmont story. Not only did they build a strong foundation for future administrators, faculty and students, but provide great inspiration to the University today. So that the cherished memories from the Ward-Belmont years will never be forgotten a special digital archive has been built by the Lila D.
