Sandra Dudley

Mrs. Sandra Dudley is Assistant Professor of Commercial Voice and Commercial Voice Liaison at Belmont University. She teaches applied voice, vocal seminars and jazz vocal styles in the commercial music program. She was the director of the Belmont jazz vocal group, “Jazzmin” from 1995-2008.
Mrs. Dudley earned her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Fredonia State University and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance and Literature from the Eastman School of Music where she studied with the late vocal master, Jan DeGaetani. Prior to her teaching appointment at Belmont University in 1995, she taught voice and music at the University of Houston and St. Francis Xavier University in Canada. She has performed throughout the United States and Canada in concert halls, jazz festivals and clubs for nearly twenty five years.
Dudley has recorded four nationally circulated jazz albums including: Last Night When We Were Young: The Ballad Album, Jazziz Magazine’s Vocals on Fire compilation, and her latest solo project Close to You on Bella Records. She has been a session and jingle singer in Houston and Canada and is a clinician in choral and voice education.
Many of Mrs. Dudley’s voice students from Belmont have achieved success in all areas of the music industry. Some of her past students include: Vocalist, Melinda Doolittle, 3rd place on American Idol, Daniel Kirkley, christian artist on Centricity Records, Julie Hevey,singer/songwriter published on Finest Music Publishing, Carly Nelson of “Anthem Avenue”, Jason Baird of “Austins Bridge”, and Tim Molyneux, major show producer and director to name a few.
Sandra has been the featured singer with the Nelson Riddle Orchestra, The Tennessee Jazz Orchestra, The Jazz Orchestra of the Delta and the Nashville and Memphis Symphonies. Her CD with The Jazz Orchestra of the Delta called Big Band Reflections of Cole Porter received critical acclaim on the Summit Record Label. She presently maintains an active performance calendar, singing in various venues both locally and nationally.
