Rick Beresford



Rick Beresford
Rick Beresford is an Adjunct Instructor in Belmont University's School of Music. He teaches commercial songwriting. He has been coaching, teaching and lecturing at Belmont since 1985.

Mr. Beresford is the director of the Kerrville Folk Festival Song School located in Kerville, Texas and is a curriculum writer and lecturer for the Nashville Songwriters Association International's song camps and workshops. He has had songs recorded by such artists as George Jones, Don Williams, Mickey Gilley, the Everly Brothers, John Conlee, BJ Thomas, and Brenda Lee, with two BMI awards and a Music City News award to his credit. Rick produced an ARIA Award winning country album of the year, 1998, for Shanley Del, BMG, Australia.

Rick has recently authored a book entitled Songwriting Dangerously. It is based on the original concepts he teaches in his classes at Belmont about the songwriting process.
