Guitar EnsembleBelmont Guitar Ensemble, directed by Mr. Robert Thompson.

The Belmont Guitar Ensemble provides an exciting environment for guitar majors, minors, and elective students to improve sight-reading skills and refine classical/fingerstyle guitar techniques while earning ensemble credit. Each semester students perform professional duo, trio, quartet and guitar orchestra arrangements and compositions. Repertoire ranges from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern periods focusing on music by a wide variety of guitar composers from around the world.

The Belmont Guitar Ensemble has made numerous performances on the NPR radio show “Live In Studio C” on WPLN, 90.3 F.M. A quartet from the Belmont Guitar Ensemble is featured on the recent Belmont School of Music Ensemble CD performing Paulo Bellinati’s virtuosic Brazilian work entitled, “Baiao de Gude” which they recorded at Ocean Way Studios. The ensemble has performed at Belmont's President's Concert, Christmas at Belmont, A Camerata Christmas, The Frist Center for the Visual Arts and N.A.S.M. Members from the ensemble were featured on the CD release 'Christmas at Belmont' performing the 'Arabian Dance' by Tchaikovsky from 'The Nutcracker Suite' released on Acklen Records.
